The Dark Feminine
Dark feminine energy is an important part of the new era that humanity is moving through
The mysterious but formidable qualities are exactly what we need to make the transition from the old world, into New Earth, but.
This rise of the dark feminine (as opposed to the lighter aspects of the sacred feminine) is a new thing for most people. Because dark feminine energy hasn’t been allowed into our culture for a long time
The structures of our modern world have taught us that the dark feminine is “bad” or negative. Our children have been taught to fear the dark, as over centuries our culture worked to condition dark and “negative” into everything.
We’ve been told that there is something wrong with the dark and that the darkness needs to be avoided.
Instead of the life-giving and regenerative power of the dark (and the dark feminine energy that is found there), men believe it is evil or witchcraft, and women are told to reject our power and women have accepted this.
We suppress, and vilify the dark face of the Goddess within us, without really knowing what she is.
We’ve been led to believe the dark feminine represents all those things we don’t want around, all those things that for so long, humans have collectively tried to push away and hide sexual expression/ fantasies, Violence, Chaos, Pain, Discomfort, The unknown, The unknowable and any angry or “bad” emotions.
The truth of the Dark feminine has been lost. This distortion began when the Divine Feminine fell when civilisations were overrun and the empire took hold. But the tide IS turning. The dark feminine is rising into consciousness’s but to reclaim her, we need to look beyond the distortion our culture has created. We need to look beyond the lies, old belief systems around what Dark feminine energy is and let her back in.
HERE IS HOW
The first task: Do your shadow work.
The dark feminine lives in the unconscious worlds of the psyche. She lives in the unknown places, in your mind you’ve been taught to fear.
Doing your shadow work is a journey of befriending your shadow, not because the Dark Feminine is a shadow which is a huge misconception. But because the dark feminine is a force that transmutes shadow into gold. To regenerate fragments of a broken spirit into something powerful.
The second task: Make peace with your demons.
There is so much that humanity is being asked to let go of right now, collectively, and personally too. Our old culture is crumbling, and as much as we’re being asked to embrace new ways of doing things. It’s okay to say no.
Nothing is fixed or decided, and this distortion can be an incredibly destablising place to inhabit, But the dark feminine lives in the liminal and dwells in this place between the ending and the beginning.
She holds this space where humanity now finds itself, and she holds us here too, in all our confusion, unknowing, and indecisiveness. It is here, the dark feminine holds us firmly. Her formidable strength allows us to sit here and actually not need to know all the answers. Whether you have an inability to let things go, or the impatience for what’s to come, these feelings are the dark feminine frequency.
The third task: Rest and rejuvenate
Making time for rest as a conscious act is sacred if dark feminine energy is going to rise through you.
A mini death, when the regenerative power of the dark Goddess comes into play. If you’re “go, go, go” all of the time, then the sacred pause in the cycle of the feminine will not come. It will overwhelm, burnout, cause illness and you’ll be forced to stop. By your own body.
The fourth task: Explore your cycle
If you are menstruating, what is your relationship with your blood?
How do you take care of your body through each phase on your cycle?
What’s the framework for cycle syncing?
As our hormones ebb and flow over the span of 4 weeks, our menstrual cycle biologically has three distinct eras:
-follicular (pre-egg release)
-ovulatory (process of release of the egg)
-luteal (post-egg release)
When it comes to cycle syncing, your actual period is considered the fourth phase.
Phase
Days (approx.)
What happens
Menstrual (part of follicular phase)
1–5
Estrogen and progesterone are low. The lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, is shed, causing bleeding.
Follicular
6–14
Estrogen and progesterone are on the rise.
Ovulatory
15–17
Estrogen peaks. Testosterone and progesterone rise.
Luteal
18–28
Estrogen and progesterone levels are high. If the egg isn’t fertilized, hormone levels decrease and the menstrual cycle starts again.
The days listed above are an average time span for each phase. Each person is different.

Most women are taught that their monthly blood is a waste product, and something dirty to throw away. But your blood has incredible regenerative, healing, and protective qualities.
Many ancient cultures practiced blood rites. Many indigenous people still do. From simply saving moon blood and using it as a healing elixir on wounds and yes, this works, to spiritually charging it for magical purposes including ceremony.
You could give your blood back to the Earth, or even try reusing it as an extremely potent medicine.
The feminine exists in our bodies and the mysterious power of our Monthly blood is dark feminine magic and if this feels totally taboo to you, then ask yourself why.
The fifth task: keep learning
Never stop learning, your spiritual path is a never ending journey and we all have to do our part by working to be our highest self and also by making mistakes, it’s human and it’s a lesson.

The Divine Feminine
Divine feminine and divine masculine can't exist without the other. This means that despite our cultural associations of masculine and feminine with men and women, respectively, we all have both energies within us. They just might not be evenly balanced.
Too much masculine, and we get aggression and domination. Too much feminine, and we get disempowerment and stagnation.
The divine feminine is the spiritual concept that there exists a feminine counterpart to the patriarchal and masculine worship structures that have long dominated organized religions. The divine feminine extends well beyond one belief system, and instead can be used as a spiritual lens to balance our perspective.
Some qualities of the divine feminine:
-
Intuitive
-
Heart-centered
-
Compassionate
-
Wise
-
Accepting
-
Forgiving
-
Collaborative
-
Reflective
-
Creative
-
Sensual
-
Kind
-
Gentle
Step one: Embrace your sensuality.
The divine feminine energy embraces all things sensual. Not necessarily to be confused with sexuality, sensuality is all about physical pleasure, whether in the form of self-care, textures, pleasing sights, etc. It's tactile, we can embrace it by getting in touch with the feeling side of things.
Light your favourite candle cook a fragrant meal, and let the smells and tastes envelop your senses. Or, turn off the lights turn on your diffuser, put on your favourite music and dance in the dark as crazy as you might look, without judgement.
Step two: Journal.
Reflection is a big part of divine feminine energy. So, going inside and journaling is a nice way to take time and reflect, tap into your feminine energy.
writing three pages without stopping every morning can help you look within while tapping into your creativity, another quality of the divine feminine.
Step three: Practice self-love.
The ultimate way to embrace the divine feminine is to practice self love and that means loving yourself as you are, not as you think you should be. One of the biggest components of self-love is self-compassion.
Try looking in the mirror and saying "I am willing to activate the divine light within me," “I love who I am, and what I am becoming” Further, practice "seeing yourself in the eyes of someone who loves you deeply, God, the divine, etc., which is one of the best ways to live as a divine feminine, and how do I achieve that?
Step four: Get in touch with your dreams.
Dreams can be important lessons, warnings or deep feelings that you haven’t noticed, and at some point we've all wondered, what they mean and do they mean anything?
While there's no clear answer to these questions, to get a better understanding of what goes on when we shut our eyes every night and how to interpret it when we wake up in the morning. There's no definitive answer, but the theories range from dreams don't mean anything to dreams are more important than our waking existence.
Check in with yourself. Get in touch with the emotions behind your dreams which can help you learn your unique "dream language," and better interpret the intuitive messages that come to you in your sleep.
Dreams have a lot of symbolism that can connect with synchronicities and other things coming up with your life, being aware of that, and being present enough to connect to that helps you connect to the divine feminine.
Step five: Prioritise "self care."
Everyone needs time to reconnect to themselves, and take care of their needs which is why you should practice self care no matter what it is, taking a bath, painting, cooking, taking yourself out for lunch or buying yourself something nice. This is a time to reconnect with your inner self, be it through a morning prayer, a meditation, an afternoon nap, or watching the sunset.
Use this time as a space for you to honor your own needs and don't cancel on yourself to do the laundry or more work, carve this time out each day and you will feel ten times better. Every minute counts.
Step six: Tap into your intuition.
We're all familiar with the idea of a mother's intuition, being strongly connected to the divine feminine. Tapping into your intuition is a great way to connect to your own feminine energy, going within, tuning in, and seeing where you're at. It's about getting quiet with yourself and not looking outward for information but rather receiving it from within. Listen to your gut trust yourself to a certain extent, but don’t overwhelm yourself by overthinking, let it come. Because it will and you will be more free and feel comfortable with the world around you. Step into the 5th dimension and see the colours of the world brighter than before.
